This rare and stunning vintage 1972 21 years Sherry Cask Matured Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky was distilled on 4th May 1972, matured for 21 years in a selected sherry butt and was bottled on 22th July 1993 in individually numbered bottles without the addition of colouring and chill filtration at cask strength 49.1% vol. The exquisite 21 Years Bowmore Sherry Cask Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky was presented exclusively for the German market with the old Seagull label and the classic gift packaging in a limited edition.
Today, this great and old vintage 1972 21 years Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky such as the Seadragon, the Moonlight Bottlings or the rare Black Bowmore from 1964 as well as all old bottlings from the 1960s and 1970s are an absolute rarity and coveted expression among connoisseurs, the discerning whisky collector and lovers of these particularly rare old style Bowmore single cask bottlings and fine old Scotch whiskies.
- Nose: Dried fruits intermingled with Herbal notes of thyme and rosemary. Cough syrup. Old furniture. Leather at the background. Whiff of smoke, but not much.
- Palate: Orange marmelade. Figs and dates. Polished oak. Nutty chewy richness. Caramel fudge. Some sherry noters. Dark chocolate. Cinnamon. Also more peaty than the nose.
- Finish: Medium long. Quite dry. Light pepper and some salt.
