Ootori 15 Years Japanese Premium Blended Whisky 40.0% ABV produced by Mercian Corporation, the owner of Karuizawa and Kawasaki distilleries
Ootori is a very rare Japanese blended whisky produced by Mercian Corporation, the owner of Karuizawa and Kawasaki distilleries. Like almost all distillates of Karuizawa, the Ootori Japanese Premium Whiskey 15 Years was stored first in charred oak barrels and then in former sherry and / or wine barrels. Ootori is Japanese and means in English as much as mystical bird. The Ootori 15 Years old is a blended whisky with an impressive sweet, rich and fruity bouquet. On the palate, it also tastes sweet with aromas of pureed bananas, oranges, limes and cereals. The finish is long lasting with notes of nutmeg and orange chocolate. A great and rare old Malt.
- Nose: a rich succulent bouquet. A big bunch of bananas, vanilla, walnuts, oranges, firm grain and fresh cut timber. Sounds sweet.
- Palate: Smooth and creamy; mashed bananas, more orange, sweet lemon and the same firm grain.
- Finish: Fairly short but smooth, with nutmeg, orange chocolate and continuing the flavors from the palate.
