On the nose, the exquisite Vintage 1977 25 Years Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky shows sweet sherry notes, leather, tobacco, pepper and, of course, smoky and maritime notes. The palate is initially soft with sweet sherry. Then charcoal soot, citrus fruits, smoke and seaweed with a pinch of salt are added. The long, sweet finish ends with a savoury dryness.
