The 2013 Islay jazz festival special bottling from Lagavulin is a Sherry wood matured whisky personally selected by Iain McArthur and a richly flavoured and very hard to find expression of Lagavulin. A special limited-edition bottling of Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky will again be available at Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival, which starts on Friday 13 September with a concert in the Malt Mill at Lagavulin distillery by the master of American Stride piano, Stephanie Trick. Distilled in 1995 then bottled in 2013 at natural cask strength, this as usual is a real highlight of the Islay jazz festival. The third in this series of releases, the 2013 bottling comes in an edition of 1,500 individually numbered bottles and drawn from hand-selected Sherry Butts filled on 19 January 1995. It is bottled at an ABV of 51.9%. Perhaps unsuprisingly it is a stunning whisky and is very highly rated indeed. Perhaps a great bottling of Lagavulin to date and an absolutely terrific Islay Single Malt!
