This is a soft and luxuriantly fragrant single malt whisky from the Miyagikyo distillery, the second distillery of Nikka in Sendal. Massata Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka selected this place because it is completely enclosed by mountains and at the junction of two clean rivers. Miyagikyo s clear water, suitable humidity and crisp air produce soft and mild malt whisky. The Miyagikyo distillery may be known for producing the more feminine of Nikka s two single malts, but these single cask selections are by no means soft and gentle. Bottled at cask strength, the true power and energy of these intense malts are matched only by their depth and complexity. A rare single cask release of single malt whisky from the Nikka Sendai Miyagikyo distillery in Japan, distilled in November 1989 and bottled in Oktober 2010 with only 376 bottles.
