This rare Port Ellen 6th Release Limited Edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky with 27 years is one of the oldest official bottlings of Port Ellen. The Islay Malt was distilled in 1978 and after its maturation in refill American Oak and refill European Oak Casks bottled in the year 2006 in an limited edition of only 4560 individually numbered at Natural Cask Strength 54.2% vol. by Diageo. Complex in the nose it is slightly phenolic and salty, lemon and apple, some melon and light sherry with a grass note, accompanied by delicate, dense and fragrant smoke. The taste is full and complex, with salty, spicy notes of nutmeg, pepper and honey, accompanied by exquisite smoke.

- Nose: slightly phenolic and briny. Vanilla, lemon and a biscuit-like element bring distinctly sweet flavours, smoke is at the back
- Palate: oily, slightly coastal and salty, spicy hints (nutmeg and pepper) and honey. Hints of seafood complete the palate.
