A rare bottling of the 16-year-old Aberlour Batch A16 Hand Filled at the Distillery Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky from the Aberlour hand filled at the distillery cask strength series, which was bottled on site at the distillery on 27th August 2016 as batch no. A16 without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration at cask strength 56.2% vol. and was not officially available in retail stores.
The special 16 years Aberlour Hand Filled Speyside single malt Scotch whisky matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, which give it its deep mahogany colour and exceptional character. The Aberlour Batch A16 Speyside single malt Scotch whisky was bottled exclusively for visitors to the distillery on site in 2016 and 2017, hand labelled with the individual bottle number, age and cask type, batch number, contents and bottling date, alcohol content and bottler s name.
The exclusive 16 years Aberlour Batch A16 Speyside single malt Scotch whisky is very fruity on the nose with fine sherry, maraschino cherries, leather and tobacco, cinnamon, blueberries and forest honey, the flavour is concentrated and powerful with Oloroso sherry, dried fruit, nuts, liquorice, chocolate, cocoa and wood, nuts, liquorice, chocolate, cocoa and wood, the finish is long, aromatic, sweet and fruity - an absolutely successful Aberlour Speyside single malt Scotch whisky with the classic Aberlour character reminiscent of the early and old A Bunadh bottlings!
