A rare bottling of the Ardbeg Alligator Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky as Exclusive Committee Reserve for Discussion Limited Edition, which was bottled in summer 2011 with the cream label without addition of dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 51,2% abv only to Ardbeg Committee members. This terrific Ardbeg Islay single malt scotch whisky matured in New American white oak casks and received 94 points in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2017 for its exceptional quality.
The Ardbeg Alligator Islay single malt shows in a particularly impressive way what peat can do - the result is a very complex and smoky Ardbeg. The Alligator in its name comes from the barrels being heavily charred that leaves an inner layer of charcoal that comes to resemble the skin of an alligator.
