This special Ardbeg Alligator Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky was matured in new American white oak casks, and the Limited Committee Reserve bottling of the Ardbeg Alligator Islay Single Malt received 94 points in Jim Murray s Whisky Bible 2017 for its exceptional quality.
The Ardbeg Alligator Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky demonstrates in a particularly impressive way what peat can do - the result is a highly complex and smoky Ardbeg. The Alligator in its name comes from the heavily charred casks, which leave an inner layer of charcoal reminiscent of an alligator s skin.
The Ardbeg Alligator Islay Single Malt Scotch has a magnificent, well-balanced nose with aromas of caramel, dried oranges, dates, figs, tobacco, vanilla, iodine, the sea, ash and oak; the flavour is smooth, full-bodied and creamy with notes of smoke, caramel, iodine, smoked bacon, preserved cherries, plums, tobacco, leather, dates, dried figs and oranges, dark chocolate, liquorice, salt and oak spices; the finish is long and pleasant with vanilla, caramel, smoke, ash, cinnamon, milk chocolate, iodine and salt - a successful and characterful Ardbeg Islay single malt!
