The Ardbeg Auriverdes Limited Edition Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky is the limited bottling for Ardbeg day 2014, the highest holiday of all Ardbeg fans, and was bottled without the addition of colourants and chill filtration at 49.9% vol. The name Auriverdes (auri = gold; verdes = green) fits in perfectly with the World Cup in Brazil, where gold and green are the national colours. Ardbeg also uses these colours as a trademark and presents the Ardbeg Auriverdes Islay single malt Scotch whisky in a striking green bottle with gold lettering. The lettering is a tribute to the numbers on the back of previous football shirts and the Brazil national football team.
Dr Bill Lumsden was once again able to live out his love of experimentation with the Ardbeg Auriverdes. The regular cask maturation of the Ardbeg Auriverdes Islay single malt took place in American second-fill white oak casks and was individualised with toasted cask lids. The complexity of Ardbeg Auriverdes is unique and the toasted cask lids have left a lasting impression on the exceptional character of Ardbeg Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky.
The Ardbeg Auriverdes Islay single malt Scotch whisky is complex and naturally smoky with tar and herbal notes, fruit, wood and sugar cane and a hint of mocha, the flavour is sweet at the beginning with coffee, rum, liquorice and a mild spiciness transitioning into a smoky, ethereal spiciness with a hint of smoked ham with an exotic fresh finish with vanilla, dry smoke and malty sweetness.
