A particularly rare vintage 2001 7 years-old Bruichladdich Port Charlotte Islay single malt Scotch whisky and one of the outstanding bottlings since the reopening of Bruichladdich in 2000 by independent bottler Murray McDavid under the leadership of whisky legend Jim McEwan. This heavily peaty single malt was distilled on 12th June 2001 and was matured in a Blood Tub with the Cask No. 38 for nearly 8 years until 31st March 2009 and was bottled as Limited Release Private Cask Bottling in a limited edition of only 41 bottles without added dyes and chill filtration at 46.0% vol. The maturing in the select and rare Blood Tub with its 40 litre content created an absolutely first-class Islay Single Malt with a beautiful mahogany colour and the classic and elegant Bruichladdich character with the power and presence of strong peat smoke. This Port Charlotte Single Cask Whisky is today considered by whisky-collector s and connoisseurs to be an outstanding and very rare and unique bottling!
