A rare and coveted vintage 2002 5 year old Bruichladdich Octomore 01.1 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the first release from the iconic Octomore bottling series from 2008. The Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 01.1 Ochdamh-mor Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled on 16th October 2002 and, after maturing for over 5 years in American bourbon oak casks from the legendary Buffalo Trace distillery, was bottled on 7th December 2008 without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration in an edition of 6000 individually numbered bottles at cask strength 63.5% vol. and 131 PPM.
The exceptionally heavily peated vintage 2002 5 years Octomore 01.1 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled by Bruichladdich in memory of the old Octomore distillery, which was located above Port Charlotte, and was the whisky with the highest phenol content at the time with 131 PPM.
