A rare vintage 2002 5 year old Bruichladdich Octomore 01.1 super heavily peated Islay single malt scotch whisky and the 1st release from the limited Octomore range from the year 2008. The special Octomore Edition 01.1 Ochdamh-mor Islay single malt scotch whisky was distilled on 16th October 2002 and, after over 5 years of maturation in American oak bourbon casks from the legenddary Buffalo Trace distillery, bottled on 7th December 2008 without the addition of dyes or chill filtration in an edition of 6.000 individually numbered bottles at cask strength 63.5% vol. and 131 PPM.
This super heavily peated Islay single malt is distilled by Bruichladdich in memory of the old Octomore distillery, which was located above Port Charlotte, and was in its day the whisky with the highest phenolic content at 131 PPM in the world.
