This vintage 2004 Bunnahabhain Islay single malt whisky comes from a single Cask No. 800195 of a first fill sherry butt, selected by Kirsch Whisky personally at Signatory Vintage, and has been added to the Cask Seasons Edition for the fall of 2016 spring at cask strength 49.7% ABV without addition of dyes and without chill filtration exclusively in a limited edition of 674 bottles. After distillation, the distillate spent 11 years of slow maturation in a 1st fill sherry butt before it was finally being bottled. A very fine young Bunnahabhain from a good sherry butt - intense, punchy and wonderful fruity. A great Bunnahabhain!
- Nose: Very lovely and unbelievable fruity. Cherries, oranges, peaches, raspberries and frosted strawberries, followed by caramel, hints of mint and some freshly chopped nuts. No smoke, but a very light maritime touch. Warm marzipan and a bit of vanilla.
- Palate: Unexpected punchy and intense. Cherries, plums and spicy vanilla. A bit oaky and peppery. Cooked oranges and cherry tobacco. Seaweed and sea salt. Some smoke, but really just a tiny bit.
- Finish: Long and warm. Hints of smoke, sweet fruits and salt. Pipe tobacco, citrus and wood.
