The great vintage 1993 9 year old Evan Williams Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was still produced in the old Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky and is one of the few vintage bottlings from the early 1990s on the market and a five-time winner of Whiskey of the Year. The family-owned company mainly produces bourbon whiskey, with internationally recognised brands such as Elijah Craig and Evan Williams. Heaven Hill is the only remaining major producer of corn whiskey in the United States and produces whiskey on behalf of several companies that do not have their own distillery. As a single barrel and vintage bottling, Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage Straight Bourbon Whiskey is one of Heaven Hill Distillery s flagship products. The Evan Williams Single Barrel Vintage series was first bottled in the year 2000-2001, since then regular aromatic insights into the barrels of the Heaven Hill distillery have been released, always fixed except for a few special bottlings with a maturation period in American white oak barrels of 9-10 years and at 43.3% vol / 86.6 proof. The Evan Williams Single Barrel bottlings have won several awards and belong to the premier class of bourbons, Tennesssees and ryes, offering plenty of flavour and a special taste experience for a reasonable price.
Each bottle of Evan Williams Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey comes from a single barrel, as evidenced by the hand-inscribed label with the individual barrel number, the date the barrel was filled and, in the case of the younger versions, the bottling date of the bottle. The vintage 1993 Evan Williams Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has a strong amber to bronze colour and is particularly impressive with its big trump card: the aromas on the nose. This straight bourbon whiskey is extremely smooth and complex. Initially, red fruits make their presence felt, followed by clear vanilla and wood. It also has subtle caramel and typical bourbon flavours. It is strong and has dominant nutty and salty notes, followed by a certain spiciness. In the finish, the Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey is once again extremely harmonious - it ends softly and leaves behind long-lasting caramel and wood flavours.
