This rare and terrific 16-year-old Glendronach Platinum Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been matured for at least 16 years in the finest Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and was bottled in the year 2013 without the addition of colorants or chill filtration in a limited edition at 48.0% ABV.
The coveted and luxurious 16 years Glendronach Platinum Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exquisite expression of Scottish craftsmanship, produced with great care according to ancient tradition at the renowned Glendronach distillery in the Eastern Highlands. It is an exclusive bottling from the Glendronach distillery, which is known for its high-quality, sherry cask-matured whiskies. The special Glendronach Platinum Edition is characterised by its special maturation in carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks and displays an explosion of sherry aromas on the nose with ripe figs, raisins and dark plums. These are accompanied by nuances of hazelnut, dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco and leather. The flavour is powerful and warming with a spicy pepper note, sweet cherry compote, marzipan, espresso and the classic Oloroso notes of walnut and dried fruit. The finish is very long, complex and dry with notes of old oak, dark chocolate and candied orange peel. The influences of fine Oloroso sherry give the whisky a deep, dark amber to mahogany colour and a pleasant sweetness.
