The world-famous and unique whiskies from the Glenfarclas Family Casks series contains selected single cask bottlings from various vintages, spanning 54 years without gaps since the early 1950s and is an exquisite collection of the best single casks from the old cask cellar of the Glenfarclas distillery. The Glenfarclas Family Casks series was launched in 2006 and for each vintage, only particularly select casks were chosen to be among the best of its year. As Glenfarclas now has almost no casks from the 1960s left in its warehouse and there will therefore be no more supplies of these particularly old and outstanding Scotch whiskies, the vintage 1960s Glenfarclas single cask bottlings are now among the most exclusive examples of whisky history and are now particularly sought-after rarities.
The exquisite and unique vintage 1961 53 years Glenfarclas first fill sherry hogshead cask no. 3054 Highland single malt Scotch whisky is heavy and dark on the nose with pear, liquorice, cardamom, stewed cherries, lots of spices and old sherry, the taste is concentrated, deep, spicy and woody with eucalyptus, cherries, depth, dark sherry notes and old leather, the finish is long and subtle with chocolate, tobacco, sherry and woody notes - an absolutely successful and oustanding Glenfarclas Highland single malt Scotch whisky with the classic Glenfarclas character of the old school, which is unrivalled today!
An outstanding and exquisite vintage 1961 53 years Glenfarclas Highland single malt Scotch whisky matured in a selected first fill sherry hogshead from the Glenfarclas The Family Casks limited single cask edition Summer 2014 in exceptional quality with a wonderful dark mahogany colour and exceptional masterpiece from Glenfarclas for connoisseurs, the discerning whisky collector and lovers of fine old Scotch whiskies!
