A very rare and stunning vintage 1963 48 year old Glenfarclas Scotch Whisky from the Family Cask Series and special bottling from a select Sherry Hogshead, bottled as a limited edition Release VIII in the year 2011. For this purpose, a selected sherry hogshead with cask no. 179 was filled with distillate at Glenfarclas in the year 1963, allowed to mature in the cask for 48 years and bottled without the addition of colourings and chill filtration on 14th October 2011 at cask strength 50.4% vol. in an edition of only 194 bottles.
A beautiful reddish-mahogany coloured Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky of exceptional quality, complex, with great body and special recommendation for connoisseurs and whisky collectors of outstanding and old scotch whiskies.
Since Glenfarclas has almost no more casks from the 1960s in its cellar and there will therefore be no more replenishment, the old vintage 1960s whiskies are now special individual pieces of whisky history and sought-after rarities on the market.
