A very rare and outstanding vintage 1968 46 year old Glenfarclas Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenfarclas The Family Casks 2014 single cask series and special bottling from a selected sherry butt. For this purpose, Glenfarclas filled a selected sherry butt with cask no. 230 in 1968, the new make matured in the cask for 46 years and was bottled in a limited edition of only 352 bottles on 10th July 2014 without the addition of colourants and chill filtration at cask strength 55.6% vol. as a limited the Family Casksrelease Autumn 2014.
The world-famous and unique whiskies from the Glenfarclas Family Casks series contains selected single cask bottlings from various vintages, spanning 54 years without gaps since the early 1950s and is an exquisite collection of the best single casks from the old cask cellar of the Glenfarclas distillery. The Glenfarclas Family Casks series was launched in 2006 and for each vintage, only particularly select casks were chosen to be among the best of its year. As Glenfarclas now has almost no casks from the 1960s left in its warehouse and there will therefore be no more supplies of these particularly old and outstanding Scotch whiskies, the vintage 1960s Glenfarclas single cask bottlings are now among the most exclusive examples of whisky history and are now particularly sought-after rarities.
