A very rare and stunning vintage 1976 30 year old Glenfarclas Scotch Whisky from the limited Family Casks series and special bottling from a selected refill sherry butt from the year 2007. For this purpose, a selected sherry butt with the cask no. 3111 was filled with distillate at Glenfarclas in the year 1976, the cask was allowed to mature for 30 years and was bottled on 28th February 2007 without the addition of dyes and chill filtration in an edition of only 595 bottles at cask strength 49.4% vol.
The world-famous and unique whiskies from the Glenfarclas Family Casks series contains selected single cask bottlings from various vintages, spanning 54 years without a gap since the early 1950s and is an exquisite collection of the best single casks from the old cask cellar of the Glenfarclas distillery. The Glenfarclas Family Casks series was launched in 2006 and for each vintage, only the finest casks were selected to represent the best of its year.
Since Glenfarclas now has almost no more casks from the 1970s in its old warehouse and there will therefore no longer be a supply of these particularly old and outstanding whiskies, the vintage 1970s Glenfarclas single cask bottlings are now among the exceptional specimens of whisky history and are sought-after rarities.
