The Family Casks are a unique collection of the best single casks from the distillery s warehouses. Launched in 2007, the collection initially comprised 43 single cask bottlings, with one cask from every year from 1952 to 1994. The Family Casks are bottled at cask strength and natural colour, allowing you to explore the subtle differences between casks and the history of family owned Glenfarclas.
A 24 year old Glenfarclas Single Cask Scotch Whisky from the Family Cask series and a special bottling of a selected Sherry Cask from the year 1991. For this bottling Glenfarclas filled a selected Sherry butt with Cask number 162 in the year 1991, were allowed to mature for 24 years in barrel and was produced in a run of only 562 bottles on 27. August 2015 at Cask Strength 58.0% ABV for the winter-release W15. A special copper-colored Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky from Glenfarclas in exceptional quality for its age, complex, absolutely first class and special recommendation for connoisseurs and collectors.
Glenfarclas (Gaelic about: valley of green grass) is located in an agricultural area below the slopes of Ben Rinnes in the northeast of Speyside, founded by Robert Hay in 1836 and obtained in 1844 to burn the license to whisky. 1865 distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants still own the distillery and this renovated 1896th In the years 1960 and 1976 the distillery to two to six today stills has been extended, which are the largest in Speyside.
