This vintage 1996 Glenlivet Speyside single malt whisky comes from a single Cask No. 83263 of a First Fill Oloroso sherry butt, selected by Kirsch Whisky personally at Signatory, and has been added to the Cask Seasons Edition for the fall of 2015 autumn at cask strength 50.4% ABV without addition of dyes and without chill filtration exclusively in a limited edition of 611 bottles. After distillation, the distillate spent 19 years of slow maturation in a 1st fill sherry butt before it was finally being bottled. This is a Speyside Single Cask Scotch Whisky in its natural form and the result is a special Glenlivet with dark mahogany in color and a beautiful, lush and syrupy single malt. A great Glenlivet!
- Nose: smooth, gentle and tender, fruity and sweet with blackberries, blackcurrant and roasted apples, Demerara sugar and spices, subtle cinnamon, cardamom and sherry aromas
- Palate: smooth but intense and very pleasant, sweet with sherry aromas, dark cherries, dates and raisins, persistent spices, cinnamon, white pepper, gentle oak and dark honey
- Finish: long, warm and sweet with spices, dry with soft tobacco leaves, crisp oak, herbs and a touch of old leather
