The 12 years Lagavulin Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2007 and earlier and bottled without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration at cask strength 56.5% vol. in the year 2019 in a new design with an illustration from the animal world for the most natural character possible - a sharp, smoky, maritime-influenced Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky and the younger brother of Lagavulin s multi-award-winning 16 year old classic.
The 12-year-old Lagavulin Special Release 2019 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky has a mild, classic and is highly phenolic nose with aromas of carbolic, dentist mouthwash, a medicine cupboards, and mineral-rich maritime notes of sea air, seaweed, and sand. The palate is smooth, unexpectedly sweet, intense, and very smoky, with sea salt, honey, peat, tar, asphalt, and campfire. The finish is long-lasting, warming, sweet, and wonderfully smoky - a classic Lagavulin and a characterful Islay single malt!
