This exquisite vintage 1994 26-year-old Linkwood Speyside single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 1998, matured for over 26 years in a selected refill sherry butt with cask no. 12601201, and was bottled on 26th May 2021 by Gordon and MacPhail in the cask strength Connoisseurs Choice single cask series as batch no. 21/098 in a limited edition of 627 bottles without the addition of colorants or chill filtration at cask strength 52.5% ABV.
The independent bottler Gordon and MacPhail has been bottling single malts for many renowned distilleries for decades. As an original bottler, it set aside the finest casks for future release. Almost exclusively, selected bourbon and sherry casks were used for the maturation process, which lasted many decades.
The magnificent, mahogany-coloured vintage 1994 26 years Linkwood Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky offers notes of sherry, plum jam, raisins, dark chocolate, nuts and dry wood on the nose; the palate is silky and pleasant, with forest honey, orange marmalade, cherries, black pepper, almonds, marzipan, vanilla, leather and dark chocolate; the finish is long, sweet and spicy with milk chocolate, tobacco and pepper - a characterful Linkwood Speyside Single Malt!
