A rare and magnificent 15-year-old Bruichladdich Octomore Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled exclusively for Feis Ile 2025 as a limited-edition release of 2,500 individually numbered bottles, without the addition of colorants or chill filtration at cask strength 54.9% ABV. The unique Octomore Polyphonic Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a symphony and a manifesto of smoky perfection, and a liquid masterpiece - for this strictly limited edition release, Master Distiller Adam Hannett has brought together the most iconic chapters in Octomore s history, comprising a composition of whisky legends such as Octomore Edition 6.3, Masterclass 8.2 and 8.4, Event Horizon, and previously unreleased single casks. The concept behind this bottling is reminiscent of a greatest hits album. Master Distiller Adam Hannett has combined well-known, iconic Octomore releases from the past - which continued to mature in the warehouses after their original release - with previously unreleased single casks. Similar to the legendary Octomore OBA Concept OBA/C_0.1 from 2017, this is a highly complex multi-cask composition.
The exquisite 15 years Octomore Polyphonic Limited Edition Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a complex cuvée of a exquisite selection of precious cask reserves spanning 15 years of distilling craftsmanship, comprising a selection of hand-picked ex-Bourbon casks (including the first historic distillation from Octomore Farm s own barley in 2007), virgin oak, Amarone, Sauternes, Grenache and Pedro Ximénez/Oloroso sherry casks; the heavily peated whiskies used for this whisky have a spectacular phenol content ranging from 162.6 to 258 PPM. Through prolonged maturation, the extremely high peat levels blend with the sweetness of French dessert wines, the spiciness of fresh oak and the depth of Spanish sherry casks to create a remarkably balanced, silky-smooth experience.
The Octomore Polyphonic Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a symphony for the senses; on the nose, it reveals ripe blackberries, sweet fruits, orange zest, brown sugar, salty sea spray, deep, earthy, warm wood smoke and a medicinal note of peat; the flavour is creamy and intense, with strawberries and red fruits, vanilla, marzipan, chestnut honey, nutmeg, herbs and spicy oak; the finish is long, mineral and powerful with seaweed, dark fruits, smoky oak and spices - an incredibly fine and unique Octomore single malt that miraculously brings out all the elements of maturation in so many different casks at once, and an exclusive Feis Ile limited edition bottling under the direction of Adam Hannett!
The exceptionally peaty Octomore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled by Bruichladdich in memory of the old Octomore distillery, which was located above Port Charlotte; in its day, it was one of the whiskies with the highest phenol content and is now regarded as a statement whisky.
