A rare vintage 2000 9 year old Springbank Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky which was distilled on 27th October 2000 and after 9 years maturation in a small 1st fill Oloroso sherry cask with cask no. 2000/597 bottled in December 2009 for the defenders of Springbank as a private single cask bottling by Springbank in a limited edition without added colouring or chill filtration at cask strength 45.4% vol.
Matured for 9 years in a small first fill Oloroso sherry cask in warehouse no. 7, this special vintage 2000 Springbank Campbeltown single malt scotch whisky shows the original Springbank character despite its young age and shines with wonderful notes of sherry, smoke and woody notes with an intense finish.
The so-called private bottling formerly used by some distilleries to refinance, the freshly bottled whisky in one or more barrels were sold through the intermediary of a whisky trader or broker has to his birth and was then allowed to mature in the duty-free warehouse of the distillery.
