This exquisite and fine 12 year old Hibiki Premium Blended Whisky was bottled exclusively for employees in an edition of only 100 bottles (unconfirmed) with a special Beam Suntory label and the slogan of Suntory Chairman Nobutada Gary Saji Yatte Minahare , which roughly translates as Go For It , to mark the takeover of Beam by Suntory and the new start in the year 2014.
The 12 years Hibiki Premium Blended Whisky is without question one of the world s premium blends and was introduced by Suntory in the year 2009. Hibiki, which means harmony in Japanese, is a master blend of carefully selected 30 full-bodied malt and grain whiskies, which have rested for at least 12 years in different types of cask and ensure its multi-award-winning complex flavour and a special taste experience. The blend is finished in casks in which Japanese liqueur made from the ume apricot previously matured. Finally, it is bottled filtered through bamboo charcoal.
The 12 years Suntory Hibiki Japanese Blended Whisky impresses with its soft flavours, is mild and fresh with some tannin, sherry, citrus, lime and grapefruit and was awarded the gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2010. The 24 facets of the bottle symbolise the 24 seasons, which are known from the ancient tradition of Sekki, the old Japanese calendar.
The 12 years Suntory Hibiki Japanese Blended Whisky is not only the most highly awarded blended whisky in Japan, but is also one of the most respected and recognised whiskies in the world today. Suntory ceased production in 2015 and this exceptional blended whisky is now only rarely available.
