The barrels used for this limited edition Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum matured for the entire period in Trinidad. With an angel's share of > 77%, this is an exceptionally high-quality molasses rum with plenty of strength and depth, and the excellent local climate and good storage conditions ensured the extremely high quality of this extraordinary rum, which was bottled by Velier at cask strength 64.5% vol. as the 32nd release in a limited edition of 2.750 individually numbered bottles in the year 2015.
The vintage 1998 16 years 32nd Release Full Proof Heavy Trinidad Rum shows a complex blend of tar, chocolate, tropical fruits, rubber and leather on the nose, while the taste has notes of chocolate, smoky cask, liquorice and caramel - an intense, classic Caroni rum with traditional flavours that becomes even more balanced after a period of rest.
