The Suntory Yamazaki Limited Edition 2016 Japanese Single Malt Whisky is the 3rd release from the Yamazaki Limited Edition series and a fine composition of selected Yamazaki single malts, which consist of 20 years in European Oak Sherry Casks and European Oak Port Casks as well as a young malt matured in bourbon barrels and was bottled without colouring at 43.0% vol.
On the nose, the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2015 Japan Single Malt shows aromas of citrus, fine sherry, fruit and oak, the flavour is oily, fruity with earthy tones, resin, sherry and floral notes, the finish is long with fruit, vanilla, spices and citrus peel.
The Yamazaki Japan Single Malt Whisky is made from only the finest and most original ingredients. Ingredients that are transformed into a wonderfully harmonious single malt during the skilful distillation process. Its soft water comes from the springs of the River Hakushu and the wood in which it matures was previously home to fine sherry and port wine and young bourbon. The taste of the whisky also shines with delightful sherry and vanilla flavours, making it a very special experience for the taste buds. Suntory's best-known whisky brands are Yamazaki, Hibiki and Hakushu. Like the previous editions, the Yamazaki Limited Edition 2016 is a blend by Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo of young single malts from American oak bourbon casks and 20-year-old single malts from European oak sherry and port casks. This has produced a range of flavours as rich as those of the oldest Japanese whiskies and an astonishing depth.
This Yamazaki Limited Edition 2016 Japanese Single Malt Whisky was launched exclusively on the Japanese market in a limited edition, was not officially available in Germany and is now one of the most sought-after bottlings among connoisseurs, discerning whisky collectors and lovers of fine Japanese whiskies.
