A rare and terrific vintage 1974 25-year-old Balvenie Single Barrel Highland Single Malt Whisky, distilled on 2nd August 1974 and after 25 years of maturation in a traditional oak cask with cask no. 10140 was personally selected by Balvenie Malt Master David Stewart and bottled on 12th September 2000 in a limited edition of 250 individually hand-numbered bottles presumably for the French market at 46.9% ABV.
For the iconic Balvenie Single Barrel series, only those casks are selected from Balvenie s old warehouses that have an exceptionally intense oak and fruit character. The resulting unique character reveals dried fruits and nuts, complemented by a light oak aroma and subtle spice notes that linger with a long-lasting fruity finish. This rare old single barrel bottling from Balvenie beautifully emphasises and demonstrates the influence of the cask on the taste of a whisky, each of which is unique in flavour and strictly limited in quantity.
The exquisite vintage 1974 25 years Balvenie Single Barrel Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was bottled without the addition of colourants or chill filtration, and the label was hand-written with the cask number, bottling date, in-cask date and individual bottle number.
