A rare vintage 1990 25 years old Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled in November 2016 exclusively for the retail market without the addition of dyes and chill filtration in a limited edition of 6000 individually numbered bottles. The fine Bruichladdich Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the result of the combination of 2 different batches, which consists of batch one with 17 year old refill Bourbon casks, 5 year old Bordeaux Grand Cru casks as well as 4 year old Pedro Ximinez sherry casks and batch two with 18 year old refill sherry butts and 7 year old Oloroso sherry casks.
This absolutely stunning Bruichladdich Islay single malt Scotch whisky has an almost overwhelming nose. Dominant sherry notes, chocolate, smoked bacon, vanilla, buttery and nutty. Lots of dark fruit or dried fruit, sultanas, marzipan, herbs and spices with a long finish.
A wonderfully balanced and complex Bruichladdich Islay single malt Scotch whisky, which has been allowed to mature predominantly in traditional sherry casks and shows the cask art and work of Jim McEwan in a particularly expressive way.
