A vintage 1978 39 year old GlenAllachie Speyside Single Cask Scotch Whisky as a special release to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the distillery - for this special anniversary the Master Distiller Billy Walker at GlenAllachie chose a sherry butt with the cask number 10296 from the year 1978. The special single cask whisky comes from the oldest stock still available in the distillery, matured in the cask for over 39 years and was bottled in a limited edition of only 340 individually hand-numbered bottles on 27 February 2018 without the addition of dyes and chill filtration at cask strength 55.9% vol.
The whisky is part of a series of 6 sherry cask bottlings for the 50th anniversary of the distillery and is the first single malt whisky since the takeover of the distillery by Billy Walker and can certainly be considered a special collector s item already today.
