He was the first European to navigate the Zambezi, explored the Lualaba and was appointed Consul-General of the African east coast.
The exclusive vintage 1978 19 years Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt was distilled in 1979, matured for 19 years in selected sherry casks, and was bottled in the year 1997 in a limited edition of 1,200 individually numbered bottles without the addition of colouring or chill filtration at cask strength 53.3% vol.
