This rare vintage 1988, 28-year-old Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is number 20 in the Glenfarclas special limited rare bottling series, released in 2016 in honour of the Scottish mathematician, physicist and scientist James Clerk Maxwell. Even whilst still a student, James Clerk Maxwell wrote scientific papers on topics that laid the foundations for later discoveries and developed the Maxwell equations, named after him, which describe the relationship between electric and magnetic fields, as well as their interactions with matter.
The exclusive vintage 1988 28 years Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1988 and matured for 28 years in selected sherry casks with the cask nos. 6867, 6982, 6987 and 6988 in the dark, cool cellars of the Glenfarclas warehouse, and was bottled in 2016 without the addition of colouring or chill filtration at 46.0% ABV in a limited edition of 2,400 individually numbered bottles.
Since 1996, Glenfarclas has released a series of limited-edition bottlings special for Germany, each dedicated to a famous Scottish historical figure.
