A rare vintage 1997 22 year-old Glenrothes Speyside single malt scotch whisky by the independent bottler Càrn Mòr as part of the limited Celebration of the limited Single Cask Black Gold series. Distilled on 28th April 1997, this special Glenrothes Speyside Single Malt was matured for 22 years in sherry puncheon with cask no. 7168 before being bottled on 29th April 2019 without added dyes and chill-filtration in an edition of only 590 individually bottles at cask strength 58.1% vol.
Originally from the former Morrison Group - the former owner of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glengarioch - this independent bottler (Morrison and MacKay Whisky Merchants) is associated with the former Scottish Liqueur Centre, which they recently took over. In close cooperation with the Gillespie family, Càrn Mòr offers partially old casks from well-known but also lesser-known distilleries and offers a very high level of quality with its selected single cask bottlings. The collector s bottlings of the coveted single malts from the Celebration of the Cask Black Gold Single Cask range, which are only available in small quantities, have become an insider s tip and are rarely available.
