A 1989 vintage single cask 24 year old Highland Park single malt scotch whisky, bottled by Càrn Mòr as part of a very special Celebration of the Cask Black Gold series. Distilled on 25th October 1989, it was aged in sherry hogshead 3214 for over 24 years before only 258 bottles were yielded on 31th March 2014 at cask strength 49.4% ABV. If you couldn t already tell from the picture, it was matured in a Sherry hogshead, and what a cask it must have been! A rare example of long-aged sherried Highland Park and a outstanding scotch whisky!
Originally from the Morrison group - the former owner of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glengarioch -, this independent bottler (Morrison and MacKay Whiskey Merchants) is linked to the former Scottish Liqueur Center, which they recently took over. In close co-operation with the Gillespie family, Càrn Mòr offers old barrels from well-known but also less known distilleries and offers a very high quality level with its selected bottlings. The collector bottlings of the coveted single malts, which are only available in small quantities, are now an insider tip and only rarely available.
