Absolutely rare old and unique bottling of the vintage 1979 18 years-old Lagavulin Double Matured Distillers Edition lgv.4/463 1st edition Inaugural Special Release and one of the very rare bottlings in the 1.0L version without EAN number on the back-label - one of the great inaugural release bottlings from the year 1997 of the legendary and highly-acclaimed Lagavulin Distillers Edition with original box in great collector's condition!
This allmost 18-year-old single malt whisky from the Classic Malts Selection by Islay legend Lagavulin was distilled in 1979 and matured for almost two years in European Pedro Ximenez sherry oak casks - these give the whisky more fruit such as raisins and dried fruits and a syrup-like character. The bottling was in 1997 with 43.0% vol. and the batch number lgv. 04/463 under the leadership of Distiller Manager M. Nicholson.
This early inaugural release and old bottling of the Distillers Edition is one of the very rare old bottlings of Lagavulin today - the first bottlings without an EAN number are among the absolute rarities among connoisseurs, whisky-collectors and lovers of old scotch whiskies!
