This excellent 18-year-old Laphroaig Islay single malt Scotch whisky was bottled with the new label and white tube after 18 years of maturation in selected American oak bourbon casks in the year 2014 in a limited edition without chill filtration at 48.0% vol. The 18 years Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky, which is well known among connoisseurs and lovers of fine whiskies, was produced from 2009 to 2015 and is a special and very popular Islay single malt that impressively demonstrates the special character of the rough Atlantic climate around the Isle of Islay and the Laphroaig distillery.
The American oak casks used in the production of the 18 years Laphroaig Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky are lightly fired before filling to impart the slightly sweet vanilla-nutty flavour of the oak. The great Islay single malt was then matured for 18 years in Laphroaig s old warehouses before being bottled.
The 18 years Laphroaig single malt shows the salty breeze of Islay and soft, sweet, spicy peat smoke on the nose, the taste is soft, powerful and rich with sweetness, spicy flavours, fine peat, charcoal, pepper, leather, dark chocolate, toffee, vanilla, ash, medicine and a very long, intense finish.
