A rare and exceptional Bruichladdich Octomore OBA Concept OBA/C_0.1 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the first release from the Limited Octomore Concept edition from the year 2017. The Octomore OBA Concept OBA/C_0.1 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first bottling from Bruichladdich s Octomore Concept series under the direction of head distiller Adam Hannett.
This coveted Octomore Concept OBAC_01 Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky was created by Adam Hannett and is a vatting of 10 of the rarest and finest casks from Bruichladdich s old cask cellar. It was bottled in a limited edition of 3,000 individually numbered bottles without the addition of colourants or chill filtration at cask strength 59.7% ABV.
The exceptionally peaty Octomore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled by Bruichladdich in memory of the old Octomore distillery, which was located above Port Charlotte and was one of the whiskies with the highest phenol content in its day.
The mysterious Octomore OBA Concept OBA/C_0.1 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is complex and multi-layered, with dark dried fruit and dark chocolate on the nose. The flavour is an explosion on the palate with dry peat smoke, spicy ginger, liquorice, tea leaves and damp tobacco, apricot and sea salt, enveloped in salty, smoky dried fruit. The finish is incredibly long, deep and fruity, an absolutely wonderful and almost iconic Octomore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky and a masterpiece by Adam Hannett!
