The company Douglas Laing and Co. LTD was established over 67 years ago by Fred Douglas Laing in Glasgow and is today one of the leading and most well-known independent bottlers for Blended Scotch Whisky and the finest, exquisite and rare Single Cask Scotch whiskies. The company is since 1948 owned by the family and the company is still run today by the Laing family. The philosophy for the bottlings was always - no coloring, no chill filtering and nonsense and whiskies are bottled at cask strength, no artificial coloring and not chill-filtered to obtain the unique character of each whisky from the extensive stock of Douglas Laing. The company has a strong sense of family and is now run by the third generation of Fred Junior and his daughter Cara. The second son of Fred Sr., Stewart Laing decided in 2013 and after more than 40 years together with the establishment of the Hunter Laing and Co., their own paths and that existing brands or bottlings from the known series like Provenance of high quality whiskies to use XOP or Directors Cut and the valuable collections together.
